This is a little more "artsy" than most of my other pictures, but I hope everyone likes the result. I wanted the focus to be on this couple, with only minimal distractions in the background. They were participating in a "Jack and Jill" contest, and doing so with an unusual combination of skill and enthusiasm. Not surprisingly, they also won the contest. While watching them, I thought of one of JFK's favorite expressions; hence, this title.

Recently, I decided to create a brand new digital photography blog for my passion about digital photography. The idea was to separate my personal blog and my hobby blog. I realize that more professional blogger have created their own photography blog to show case their taste in the digital world. So do I.

The idea was to share my best photos on a separate website that will communicate with more professional digital photography. I called "Outography". It means "Out to the digital photography jungle".

I am also thinking to move on to HDR photography - High-Dynamic-Range photography. That is something new to me and I am blown away by many amazing HDR images.

Switching from Nikon to Canon. Need to learn how to use the camera. So far it's a great experience. Crop the photo to 100% zoom and see a lot of noise / blurry.

I think Moraine Lake is a lot better place to rent a canoe than Lake Louise. It's insanely beautiful with the sparkling turquoise water from glacial runoff and less crowded. Finely ground silt particles made by glaciers give the water this amazing color, which constantly changes with the time of day and as the clouds come and go. Of course, the ten peaks around the lake don't hurt a bit. You can put your money on it, or as the Canadians did, put it on your money.

In early November, it is hard to get a shadow-free shot of Horseshoe Bend. Shooting at 7mm, I took advantage of the wide angle. I had to duck to keep my shadow out of the photo, but you can still see the shadow of my camera and tripod.

So, a little background to the shot...

Ribblehead Viaduct is in North Yorkshire on the famous Leeds-Settle-Carlisle railway which passes through some of England's most stunning countryside.

In August I came across from Brussels to visit my granny, my parents also travelled up. We went to Wensleydale (of Wallace & Gromit cheese fame - my favourite cheese after Lancashire) to visit friends of my granny's and on the way back down from Hawes we approached Ribblehead as a mist descended and lifted again, I managed to take a few shots. The only editing is with the levels and burning the bottom corners a little.

WOW! What an interesting shot! I wish I were there.

The calm before the storm. The air is still and the birds stop singing and go to shelter. The tropical storm is arriving. The rainy season in Thailand is from May till November. During this season you can get some of those torrential rains that last 30 minutes to 2 hours, like this one below then clearing and sun. It was a most spectacular scene and scary too. There is always little to no wind in the eye of storm. Recently the tropical storm Kammuri killed hundreds of people in Vietnam. So always be aware of the danger.

Below you can see the same photo I took 5 minutes later. From the calm before the storm into the windy tropical rain storm.

What an amazing long shot photo?

Its fairly tough trying to get a decent night shot when on top of the Empire State Building in New York. Its hard to use a tripod up there with the limited space, but they also have zig-zag fencing going all the way round which makes it tougher.

Nonetheless I spent about an hour or two up there taking shots, weaving my way in and out of the masses of crowds.

This is one of many photos I took over graduation weekend. I have over 100 already edited and will upload them sporadically.

This was one of my favorites. I love taking photos of Emma - she makes my job incredibly easy by being such a great subject. One of my overall favorites.

The Rhön Mountains are a group of low mountains in central Germany, located in the states Hesse, Bavaria and Thuringia. They are the product of ancient volcanic activity and are separated from the Vogelsberg Mountains by the Fulda River and its valley.
Wasserkuppe, highest point of Rhön. These mountains are a popular tourist destination. Hikers come for the nearly 6000 km (3750 miles) of tracks through the picturesque scenery, More recently, farmstays are flourishing in the region.

Since 1991, UNESCO has declared the Rhön a Biosphere Reserve on account of its unique high-altitude ecosystem.

De Rhön is een middelgebergte van vulkanische oorsprong in het hart van Duitsland in het grensebied van Beieren, Hessen en Thüringen. Het wordt begrensd door de rivieren de Fulda en Sinn in het westen. De Rhön geniet sinds 1991 als biosfeerreservaat erkenning van de UNESCO.

There a little story about the photo. Very nice photo.

I was in the backyard this afternoon looking for my daily photo, when I heard strange whisperings.I looked around but could not see anyone. I went back to looking for my photo of the day then noticed something moving out of the corner of my eye. It was them, the plants, they were shaking up towards the sky, suddenly a strange light appeared in the sky , very weird indeed.

Maybe Project 365 is effecting me, maybe the challenge of having to find something different and interesting each day is finally getting to me, maybe I need a holiday. :-)
